We had 5 kids accept Christ yesterday!!
VBS has been great, I only wish I was able to say more than the few phrases
I know in Spanish! We went downtown yesterday, going to a very ornate Catholic church,
the town hall with some of the artwork, and to a shop where they also make Cahita (sp),
one of the desserts Celaya is known for. We left earlier than usual to spend more time
with our host families, and that was amazing. It was just wonderful to spend time with them
and worship in both English and Spanish together!
I absolutely love the kids in VBS, and even though yesterday I didn't feel like I was
really contributing (as the locals help as well) but today I realized how much each of
us mattered. The kids were constantly watching the 'Americans' and it was so awesome
to love on them, and even just give them a high five and watch their faces brighten.
It's clear that God is using us, and I'm really sad we only have two more days of VBS.
In construction, we are laying bricks down for a sidewalk between the two buildings,
and doing some fencing, though I'm not totally sure where.
They also moved a huge pile of bricks up to the third story using a pulley,
which was interesting to watch. They are really getting a lot of work done,
and I even got to help lay bricks, which was exciting because they told me I
was doing really well! It's just awesome to get to help wherever they need us. :)
